Instructor Bob Ondarza

Bob has studied martial arts for over 30 years his focus in Kali and Silat has lasted for over fifteen years.  His teaching experience includes Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Mande Muda Silat, Capoeira Regional, and Hatha Yoga as well as methods to de-escalate and manage aggressive behavior.  In tournament sparring, he was awarded first place in continuous stick sparring and second place in continuous knife sparring at the AAU Chinese Martial Arts National Championships in 2000.

As a fight choreographer he has worked with both actors who have no formal martial arts training and accomplished stunt men to produce comedic and dramatic fight scenes for film.

His lifelong passion for movement built his athletic background and includes foil fencing, Aikido, Tang Soo Do, Judo, Crossfit, rock climbing, marathons, triathlons, masters swimming, Maui channel team swim, Waikiki bay swim and 10k swims.  Bob’s teaching philosophy is that movement when properly done educates the nervous system and as one transfers from one sport to the next, athletic attributes and fitness come along for the ride.
